Mike McCarty, president of Safe Hiring Solutions, founded the company to help organizations improve the results and reliability of their background and criminal checks. Prior to starting Safe Hiring Solutions, McCarty was a violent crime detective with the Metropolitan Police Department in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was instrumental in the development and implementation of one of the largest community-based family violence investigative units in the United States.

McCarty has facilitated violence prevention training and consulting to organizations such as U.S. Homeland Security, National Sheriff’s Association, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence and numerous other state, local and private organizations.
