Why Prevention is Key in Safety and Security

When talking about safety and security, prevention always comes up. This is for obvious reasons, right? No one wants crime to happen, so the goal is to prevent it from happening. Unfortunately, prevention is a multi-step process that not every organization is experienced in. Chances are your organization does some sort of prevention, but it’s likely that there’s more that can be done.

As a safety and security company, SafeHiring Solutions preaches the importance of prevention. In a recent episode on The Safety Zone Podcast, Mike McCarty, CEO of SafeHiring Solutions, expanded on the importance of prevention and why it led him to start SafeHiring Solutions in 2004.

“Over 30-years ago, I started my career as a police officer. I learned quickly that much of what we did was reacting to crime rather than preventing it. I then became a Domestic Violence Detective and developed a prevention program that cut domestic violence cases in half. Prevention of crime is key -- and that is what we do at SafeHiring Solutions.”

Because we see the importance of preventing crime, and we know that it’s often difficult to know where to begin, we offer free webinars that educate you on all things regarding safety and security. The first step to avoid crime is to be educated and know how to avoid it. The webinars we offer include, but are not limited to, these types of topics:

  • Overview of new safety and security legislation

  • How to understand laws and regulations

  • Safety lessons to learn from current events

  • Crime prevention training

Along with the free webinars, SafeHiring Solutions is currently rolling out a new service: The Learning Zone. The Learning Zone will offer training courses regarding sexual abuse training and other volunteer/employment trainings.

If you would like to sign up for any of our free webinars, please feel free to do so here.
