Scott Pickett

Scott Pickett serves as the Director of Security for The Compass Church, where he leads all safety and security operations across six campuses in Chicago’s western suburbs, as well as major off-site events.  With more than 32 years of experience in local and federal law enforcement—including senior leadership roles—Scott brings deep expertise in threat assessment, emergency response,  volunteer vetting, background investigations, interviewing, grant applications, executive protection, and investigative practices to the church environment.

As a Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), Scott is also an instructor in Interview Techniques and Lead Homicide Investigations, training professionals in high-stakes interviewing and investigative strategies. His background includes extensive involvement in chemical and biological hazard detection to protect critical infrastructure.  Scott has been a speaker at numerous church security events as well as an international speaker, a member of a United Nations working group, a presenter at INTERPOL, and an instructor at numerous training sessions.

Scott has been on staff at The Compass Church for more than 10 years and is dedicated to creating a secure environment where people can worship and serve with confidence.  He and his wife Cindy live in Naperville with their two children.
